6 times National Chess Champion Surya
Shekhar Ganugly won the 7th Parsvnath International Rating Chess
Tournament with 8.5 points. Ganguly tied for the top spot along with
Russian Grandmaster Mikhail Ulibin, but better tie break score helped him
to take the pole position, he pocketed prize money of more than two lakh
in the Rs. 11.5 lakh prize money tournament.

Kruttika Nadig drew with Eesha
Karavade in the 11th and final round, but had to wait until Mary Ann Gomes
plotted the defeat of defending champion Tania Sachdev, to emerge the new
champion in the Parsvnath 35th National ‘A’ women’s chess championship
which concluded at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture here on
Sunday.
The 20-year-old Kruttika agreed to a draw in 20 moves after her opponent
repeated moves in a complicated middle game, to wind up with 8 points from
